O Super Nintendo foi um dos videogames mais importantes da história, sendo que foram fabricados cerca de mil cartuchos diferentes, incluindo aventura, luta, RPG, corrida, nave, futebol, basquetebol, beisebol, voleibol, xadrez, puzzles.
Existem 54 milhões de resultados no Google e 38 milhões de resultados no Yahoo! quando se busca por "Mario World", o que indica a popularidade imensa do principal jogo da Nintendo. Aliás, até hoje, desenvolvedores criam jogos modificados (hacked roms) baseados nos jogos do Mario, com fases mais difíceis e cenários modificados.
